Let me say that I am not a Beyoncé’ fan. She is a very talented entertainer with a great following that knows how to create her own story. With that being said-
When I first heard that she had a new single out called “Formation”. I must admit I was intrigued. The video was definitely a tribute to the black southern atmosphere that we know all too well. Black women…front and center. Black woman…with the Men in Black dressed nicely while standing on the plantation house steps basking in the freedom they worked hard to get. Black women…sitting in white showing class and feminine gestures. The message sprawled on the wall “Stop Shooting Us”….
And….she had a mirage of black women, in black dancing with her…with afros!! I love it!
I could go on and on…but I will let you watch the video for yourself. Oh, yea…the reference to the #BLACKLIVESMATTER movement was pure genius. Plus, I saw the reference to the Black Panther party movement!
I slay….you slay….WE SLAY! Black women…. WE SLAY!!!
Proud to be Black…African American!
We will get in formation! We will get into a discussion later on this subject! Enjoy some of the pics from last night at Superbowl 50, where she performed Formation!
As for the video….you have to find it yourself!!
